Unicorn.....

As you know, I love fantasy and mythical beings, I love imagining that they are or were really alive, wouldn't that be fantastic! At this time of the year, magic is really stirring in the air, and so I thought there was no better time to introduce another mythical being into my Bearykins collection, the Unicorn! I thoroughly enjoyed making her, from her gorgeous pink fur, to her flowing mohair mane...
Flossy is available to adopt on Bearpile, I hope you'll take a peek at here and maybe find a place for her in your home over the holidays, thanks for looking!

Bears looking for homes for Christmas!

Thanks for visiting the show over the weekend :) I have now updated my bear pile page with the remaining critters from the latest Christmas and Halloween shows! http://www.bearpile.com/artist.cgi?id=1314
I've also listed many of my old style bears on my website in a Clearout Sale,www.jellybellybears.com Many bears were from my personal keepers collection, thinning the herd is a must after moving house, I realise I have to be a little tougher in this business hehe Especially if I want to keep more ;)

And a fairy to bring magic to my new studio....

I just haaaad to make a fairy bear to "christen" my new work space with fairy dust, magic, sparkle, and glitter, glitter glitter!! You know how that stuff goes eeeeverywhere when you use it hehe, nothing like getting some sparkly glitter into the carpets and corners to really get the magic flowing! And so here is little Elspeth, she is 4 inches tall, made with dusty lilac tipped mohair, hand made posable wings, Swarovski's from top to toe (literally hehe) She is available to adopt through Bear Pile, please click here... http://www.bearpile.com/artist.cgi?id=1314 Creating her really helped me get settled in my new studio. Thanks for taking a peek at my blog and for all your lovely comments, they really mean a lot to me, big bloggy hugs!!

Exciting news!!

On top of all the excitement of moving house, after a week of being internet-less, I turned on to find out that my little bear Pip, had been placed on the front cover of Teddy Bear Review!! I am so thrilled beyond words, many thanks to all the lovely people at TBR who thought my little bear worthy, thank you so much!!!

Escape to the Country!

We finally did it!! After a year of umming and ahhing we found a perfect place to settle in the South East of Australia, Mount Gambier. I truly didn't think we would ever actually move, and it has been a mammoth job, but the heat of summer in Adelaide was getting too extreme for all of us to cope with any longer. We wanted a healthier and easier life, and Mt Gambier offers it all, scenery, milder weather and no water restrictions mean beautiful green gardens, my green thumbs can't wait to get planting :) The city has also has all the conveniences of modern life (all the fast food joints are here lol), mixed with many quaint country stores makes shopping (and eating out) delightful! A few minutes out of the city centre and you're back amongst rolling hills and pine trees....beautiful! I'm so glad we made the decision!!

So, now we are here, I'm unpacking all of my work boxes, and hopefully I'll have some new little Jellybelly Bears ready to be adopted soon! I can't wait to get back into my work! But moving house comes along with lots of work before the fun can start ;) I hope to decorate my sewing room as prettily as my old one, but of course it will be different and that will take some getting used to. But I promise, as soon as it is ready, I'll show you around :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, have a great weekend!

The Blue Lake, in the dead of winter so I can't wait to take shots when it's really Blue!
Lovely to see so much greenery!

Happy Birthday Pippin!!

It's my darling boy's birthday!! Happy Birthday Pippy :) He is truly such a joy in my life, I know I'm probably sounding like one of those silly women who overcompensates with their dogs for lack of having children of their own, and I guess I am LOL, but....I really couldn't have asked for a better puppy than my cute little Pip. He is my constant companion, makes me laugh daily with his antics and provides inspiration for my designs too. I made an apple slab cake and cut him a small piece so I could give him his candles and birthday wish and he could dive right in, he was crying for his cake by the end of the song (yes we sang hehe) I wonder what he wished for........
Pippin, 3 years ago when we first met :) Can't believe he was ever so small!!

Josephine, ready to fright!

I haven't made a Lil' Spook in awhile, I was actually making a little panda bear, when I thought, "you'd look much better with fangs and wings" and so...Josephine was born! The name....it just came to me, there is no reference to any Vampirey characters as far as I know....she was not really planned, more one of those creations that just happens for some reason....lol
Here is the link for more details about adopting her.. http://www.bearpile.com/detail.cgi?id=1314&item=36802 My next bear is a planned fairy. ...pink, glitter, sparkle and frill....I miss it after making...two or three normal bears lol ;)

A new Baby Boy!!

Here is little Bobby, a new little baby boy bear. He is 4 inches tall and made with Sassy mini plush, it was interesting working with another fabric, but I'm quite happy with the results and will probably buy some more colours and styles to experiment with. And I will have to make a baby girl bear too :) Here is his link on bear pile, thanks for looking :) http://www.bearpile.com/detail.cgi?id=1314&item=36740

Raindrops on roses...

Its that time of year again, when I breath a sigh of relief that the summer is over! The garden also comes back to life in a somewhat spingtime form, enjoying the coolness after the crisping heat of summer. Life is good again! A friendly parrot stopped by to tell us so :)
I love coming outside after a rain to find silvery raindrops on all the roses and foliage, its a magical feel to be in a glistening garden, breathing in the cool sweet air after the harsh South Australian summer.

Inviting you into my studio.....

I thought it would be nice to share some photos of the place where I create my little bears and critters. I've decorated it in a fairy woodland theme, and it not only inspires me, but I also find it a relaxing place to drink a cup of tea, or even do my mediation and yoga. My little butterfly dog loves it too, his favourite place is peeking through the curtains at the street outside, he has his special little toy box too and it still amazes me how many of those toys he will pull out in a day to play with :) If you'd like to see more photos from my studio, click here for to see my flickr album. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22313200@N02/sets/72157623763271839/

Little Pip on Bear Pile

Here is a new Bearykin, available to adopt on Bear Pile, his name is Pip, after my little dog Pippin. Somebody told me that my bears look a lot like my dogs little face, I suppose I'm not the only artist with a furkid to be inspired by their little bundle of fluff :) Funnily enough, years ago, our only family dogs were Jack Russells and until I adopted my little boy Papillon 2 years ago, I used to make bears with much longer muzzles and smaller eyes. I have often wondered over the last year why I changed my style from bears that look older in age, to much younger baby cute bears.....now I realise my little Pippin pooch is to blame :) I love making wee babe bearykins though and really think the change did my creative spirit good, thank you Pippin :)
