Some new creations looking for a home....

Hi friends,

Its been a long time since I've created any new little Jellybelly Bears, so I'm super excited to show you my new soft sculpture releases, inspired by a fun winged cat commission I completed last year for a beary lovely lady.

Rhubarb, a pixie kitten, mad about rhubarb crumble with loads of cream!  Of course I found her in the rhubarb plant, I'm sure that's where she got her colouring :-)  Rhubarb has been adopted :-)

Pupcake, a pixie puppy, I found him in the garden trying to play with the snails!  He gave that up as soon as I tempted him with a homemade cupcake, which he mispronounced as, yes, you got it, ......pupcake

Custard, a little pixie kitten, named after her sweet colours and because she insists on eating every meal with her favourite food, custard, of course :-)

Teddy Bear & Friends!

I was delighted to see my little Christmas bear Jack Frost on the cover of the Christmas issue of Teddy Bear & Friends!!!  We here at Jellybelly Bears are over the moon with the lovely surprise and feel very honoured to be chosen.  What a lovely early present :-)

Ursula the Dragon

Well it seems like an age since I've posted anything on my blog!  I guess I've been busy, a little down with illness, but finally I was able to work in my studio again.  I have just completed a little Jellybelly Bear, Ursula the Dragon, she is just 3.3" tall and was born today.  Although I had planned to complete some dragons earlier in the year to celebrate the year of the Dragon, I plan to make at least a few more before the year is out.  I really enjoy creating them, after all, Dragons are one of my favourite animals, not sure if it has anything to do with being born in the year of the Dragon myself ;)

Thoughts turn to yumminess..

Isn't this the yummy time of year?  Well for me it is....chocolate!!  Need I say more!  The stores are brimming with all sorts of chocolate, my favourite, is the Cadbury cream egg varieties, although I can't seem to find the different flavours they used to have....I remember a white dream type that tasted like it was filled with condensed milk! Yuuuum!!!

Anyway, I have created three new Jellybelly Bears in my "Bearykins" range for the season!  I've been working on custom orders in between the ups and downs of life all year, so I haven't had much time to spend on normal work.  So, I'm super excited to be listing some new creations again, I have signed up for Bear Pile membership again too and I'm thinking of giving Etsy a try since it seems like a fun avenue...but, small steps for now, I tend to overwhelm myself with things I want to accomplish and then get weighed down with reality and time limits very quickly....

So, without further waffling.....

I'll head back to my first point, before I was distracted by, um...chocolate (easy to do, right?) it is nearly Easter time, and of course Easter reminds us of Bunnies!  I love bunny rabbits, they are so cute and sweet and better still, the Easter variety bring chocolate! (there is that word again!) 

Here I have two little additions to the Jellybelly Bears "Bearykins" range..... Candyfloss and Marshmallow. And a little bear has arrived too, Cora, ready to do some Easter egg hunting I'm sure!

December's Teddy Bear Review

I finally received my issue in the post, and I'm in it :) Weeell, I should correct myself....my little Jellybelly Bear, Elf Edgar is :) I'm really happy to see him in print and thank Stephanie for putting together another fantastic article.  I love being a soft sculpture artist :-)

Merry Christmas!

December already?

Hasn't the last part of the year flown by! Well it has for me! I was quite ill in October, November saw stressful times as my little dog Pippin had to have surgery one of his back legs. The vet discovered that he had slipped kneecaps on both rear legs, along with a lot of arthritis in his hips and bone spurs, bowed tibias....oh boy, he was in pain but I was a mess with the thought of him needing surgery. Thank goodness he came through just fine, and is now recovering nicely. He will have his other leg fixed next year, I think we both need time to recover!

I also started on my insulin pump, its been a huge adjustment and a lot of work, but I'm going well with it and I already notice a difference in my diabetes control and how well I feel. It is much easier than all of those injections I've been having for close to 17 years! I'm looking forward to a better life with it.

So, have I had any time to create! Not really! I have finished one custom order which I am really pleased with, a kitty fairy called Solstice, I'm considering more fairy dogs and cats now of course, very inspiring working from someone else's ideas at times :)

And, I almost forgot! I had pre-made a little Elf Bear called Edgar months ago to be featured in Teddy Bear Review. And, so, here he is! He has been waiting for the season for a very long time! He is available to adopt now, if you would like to email me, I can send him off to you as quick as can be, hopefully in time for Christmas! Edgar is 3.5 inches tall, he is made from Sassy Plush in shades of green. Edgar is fully cotter pin jointed, and he has black glass eyes and a embroidered and highly glossed nose. He is ready and waiting to enjoy Christmas and also to bring joy to your house throughout the year!

Jake is a Werewolf! He's not as spooky as he seems and promises he will not bite you, even on a full moon :) He is 4 inches tall, made from mohair and is fully cotter pin jointed. Glass eyes, shiny embroidered nose and delightful fangs, roar!! $150 plus postage costs

Hagatha is just under 3 inches tall, she is made from Sassy Plush in pink, she is fully cotter pin jointed, has glass eyes, a Swarovski crystal belly button, and is fully attired in Halloween witch costume. She is a good little witch though, she has her cauldron and her knack for spells, she will bring a little magic into your life no matter what time of year!

Well, here comes the end of my very long blog post! I hope you've stayed with me and not nodded off ;) I'm glad to be regaining some normality back into my life, its the catching up that is always difficult. The first day of Spring!

It is the first day of Spring here in Australia, and as I was wandering around the garden, I found this little girl in our peach tree! She was there to celebrate the beginning of spring, and after sprinkling her magic around our garden, she asked if she could be adopted out to another family in need of some springy fairy dust!

Peach Blossom is just under 3 inches tall (2 and 3/4 inches to be precise) She is hand stitched and 5 way cotter pin jointed. She is made in a lovely peachy mini plush, with a frosted finish, so the general appearance is of a soft peach colour. She has glass eyes, handmade iridescent wings and a Swarovski crystal belly button. She comes with a Jellybelly Bears swing tag and tush tag.

Two little Gnomes...
